Learn how to use fertility awareness as contraception
Fertility awareness (natural family planning) means using information like your waking temperature and cycle length to work out when you are fertile.
To avoid pregnancy you need to use condoms or other precautions for at least eleven days a month. The NHS website says "when used correctly all the time, fertility awareness methods are between 91% and 99% effective at avoiding pregnancy." It also suggests you get support. It's not rocket science, you can even learn on your own, but it takes more than downloading an app. Before you start, read Is fertility awareness for you? Sarah Panzetta
