Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Sarah Panzetta and I've been a Fertility UK fertility awareness practitioner since 2011.
I learned about fertility awareness from a friend and a borrowed book back in 1995 and I must say it was the chats with a friend that made the difference. I wouldn’t have made the leap without her support.
I was sceptical. My mum was a nurse, my husband is a scientist and I was a health librarian. But of course it did work and we’ve used it ever since, one child on purpose (our fabulous daughter) and no accidents.
In 2011, after being told it doesn’t work for the zillionth time, I decided to train as a Fertility UK practitioner. It's great to get support from a friend but I wanted to make sure I knew what I was talking about.
Since then I have taught many women (and their partners) about fertility awareness, as well as doing my other work in an NHS mental health trust communications team.
I’ve worked with religious couples, single women, women who’ve had abortions and women with tricky cycles thanks to health issues. I love teaching folk about fertility awareness and learning from those that I work with.
Being able to rely on yourself and your judgement to work out when you are fertile is a powerful, liberating and often quite healing thing.
At the same time, I love keeping things as simple as possible – and I know fertility awareness is not the right choice for everyone. Your contraception should fit with your life – not the other way round.
So here I am, to cut a long story short, full of knowledge, training and experience, and ready to help!

All best

* Being a Fertility UK practitioner means I base my teaching on a simplified version of Sensiplan which is mentioned in this BMJ update on fertility awareness based methods of contraception. I think the Fertility UK approach is probably more effective that Sensiplan because it's easier, quicker and cheaper to learn - and considerably less hassle to use.

What people say...
"Sarah is a fantastic teacher and a wonderful open-minded individual to confide in....I would have found it much more difficult and would have been very hesitant to try this method without Sarah...I feel like the person I used to be." (Maria)
"Thank you, thank you so much for your wonderful talk and imparting of knowledge. You created such a wonderfully safe space for all questions and fears to come to light." (Wolf Whistled North - feminist group) Read more about people's experience of FAM and working with me...
